CWDM technology is designed to combine up to eight fiber connections and reduce costs in long-distance fiber installations.

Coarse Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (CWDM) (Kaba Dalga Boyu Bölmeli Çoklama) technology offers a solution to increase capacity. Since multiple channels/wavelengths can be provided over the existing fiber infrastructure without additional cost.

MikroTik CWDM is a passive MUX / DEMUX unit that combines up to eight fiber connections. At the other location, the combined line is split again, so you will only need one fiber cable instead of eight long fiber cables.

The CWDM solution allows signals to be transmitted and received over wavelengths ranging from 1470 nm to 1610 nm. A dual fiber cable connects to two optical fiber CWDM MUX / DEMUX units and supports the same wavelengths at both ends of the fiber optic network. Each CWDM unit has a filter set for a device.

Therefore, the specific wavelength must be correctly connected to the relevant port.
