The L009 is more than just a router. This product line is 4 generations faster than the RB2011 series; it features a modern ARM CPU, innovative multi-router housing allowing up to four routers in a single 1U space, more RAM, PoE, and 2.5G SFP support. This version comes with 1U rack mount accessories.

The legendary RB2011 product line has provided affordable, flexible, and robust connectivity for over a decade. In fact, this was our first SFP router. It's time for an upgrade.

There are three main reasons to choose the L009: better performance, more features, and some interesting quality of life improvements. Let's start with the hardware and performance improvements.

The L009 boasts a powerful dual-core ARM CPU. It offers significant improvements in routing and filtering, complex firewall rules, IPsec hardware encryption, and various advanced RouterOS features. The ARM CPU architecture provides significant advantages over the old MIPS-based devices, such as using the latest Linux kernel features or running your own container projects. The combination of a full-size USB port with a modern ARM CPU is perfect for running custom container projects. For example, you can run a Pi ad blocker or add an LTE modem via USB. The possibilities are endless.

The L009 is generally 4 generations faster than the RB2011 in most cases and setups, from simple fast path routing to complex bridge filters.

All ports are now Gigabit Ethernet ports. The first port has a PoE input. You can use this instead of a DC jack to power the unit. Additionally, the last port has a PoE-Out*. A useful addition is a SFP cage that supports both Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit connections. A console port for quick direct access is also available!

At the heart of it all, a fast Marvell Peridot switch chip provides a 2.5 Gigabit full-duplex connection to all ports except CPU-to-Ether1. The first port has its own Gigabit full-duplex link to the CPU. This means countless configurations without bottlenecks!

The new housing is a fantastic innovation. It features the same form factor as our popular RB5009 devices. It comes with many useful features. First and foremost, the case acts as a large heat sink to protect your setup from overheating. But the fun part is this: you get everything you need to fit up to four of these routers in a single 1U rack mount space.

You can get an RB5009 with PoE output ports. With just two 1U rack mount spaces, you can mount seven L009 routers. By creating a new example of efficient space management and reliable power supply, you will become a legend among system administrators. The L009 RM version is almost identical to the IN version, except for the 2.4 GHz wireless feature. It comes with all the necessary mounting accessories and further reduces costs.
